Description
(Desloratadine) is an antihistamine used to treat the symptoms of hay fever and other allergic conditions such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes, and sneezing. It may also be used to treat hives. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Aerius belongs to a group of tricyclic antihistamines that manifests selective and peripheral H1-antagonist effect.
Brief description:
The drug had long-lasting effect and does not cause drowsiness due to its inability to enter the CNS. Deslorantadine does not inhibit the production of histamine it binds to the allergic receptors and does not allow them to interact with produced histamine.
Indications:
Aerius is used in treatment of allergic conditions of different origin which manifest with the following symptoms:
• Sneezing
• Watery eyes
• Nasal discharge or congestion
• Itching eyes or skin
• Skin rash, hives
• Chronic hives.
Contraindications and cautions:
Consult your doctor on possibility of using Aerius if the following conditions apply to you:
• Pregnancy or lactation period
• allergy to desloratadine or any other anti-allergic medicine, other drugs or foods
• Liver or kidney dysfunction or both
Side effects:
There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Aerius will experience it or any other. The side effects are:
• Sleepiness
• Dizziness
• dry mouth or soar throat
• Weakness
• Headaches
• Indigestion
