Therapeutic actions:
The medicine has an anti-varicose action by enhancing capillary stability and normalizing their permeability. It has also a certain anti-inflammatory effect. As a result of these pharmacologic effects troxevasin relieves edema, pain and trophic disturbances and makes possible the effective treatment of chronic venous failure and its complications
What is it used for?:
• pre-varicous and varicous syndrome,
• varicous ulcers,
• chronic venous insufficiency,
• superficial thrombophlebitis, phlebitis, post-phlebitis conditions,
• retinopathy,
• haemorrhoids,
• muscular cramps,
• pains of traumatic origin - following contusions, distorsions, luxations and etc.,
• edema and pain in trauma and varicous veins,
• varicous dermatitis.
Contraindications and cautions:
History of sensitivity to rutosides.
Side effects:
Allergic skin reactions are very seldom, gastric discomfort, reddening of the face and headache may occur. Withdrawal of treatment is not necessary.
Interactions:
Interactions with other medications havenit been described. Troxevasin does not affect anticoagulants of the coumarin type. The drug can be combined with other venotonic preparations or with local medicinal forms of that group.
