Mydriacyl is an anticholinergic. It works by relaxing the muscles of the eye to cause the pupil to dilate or widen (mydriasis). Dilating the pupil and paralyzing certain muscles in the eye for diagnostic tests

Active Ingredients:
Tropicamide

Therapeutic actions:
Tropicamide relaxes the ophthalmic muscles thus inhibiting the contraction of the pupil. The dilatation of the pupil usually lasts for not more then 3-4 hours.

What is it used for?:
(Indications:)
Mydriacyl ophthalmic is used before eye surgery or eye examination to dilate the pupil. Other uses of the drugs can also be discussed with your local health care provider. Contraindications and cautions: During the use of the Tropicamide be cautious in driving or operating machinery because the preparation makes your eyes sensitive to light and may cause blurred vision. The effects may last for 24 hours after utilization be sure to protect your eyes from direct sunlight. Avoid using other eye medication unless your doctor tells you to do so.

Side effects:
There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Mydriacyl will experience it or any other.
If an allergic reaction occurs( hives; difficulty breathing; swelling) immediately call your doctor.

• blurred vision
• swelling of the eyelids

• eye sensitivity to sunlight
