Description
Vizoptin eye drops, solution 0.05% tetrizoline hydrochloride 100 ml eye drops, solution contain 50 mg tetrizoline hydrochloride
Excipient: benzalkonium chloride
Clear, colourless solution, practically free from particles
The symptomatic treatment of non-bacterial inflammations of the conjunctiva (due to smoke, ultraviolet rays, work on the computer, watching television, chlorinated water, air currents, cosmetic products, contact lenses, etc), as well as of allergic reactions that accompany the pollen allergies or hay fever.
The ophthalmic solution with tetryzoline hydrochloride is usually administered 1-2 drops in each of the affected eyes, 2-3 times a day. If the product has been prescribed by the doctor, his/her indications must be followed.
Tetryzoline is a sympathomimetic agent with imidazolinic structure, with direct stimulatory action on alpha-adrenergic receptors. After local application, it determines vasoconstriction, with nasal and ocular mucosa decongestion, which is due to arteriolar constriction al local level.
Tetryzoline is a partial agonist of the receptors responsible for platelet aggregation.

Therapeutic actions:
Vizoptin contains the active ingredient Tetryzoline hydrochloride that is a vasoconstrictor. When the foreign objects or irritants penetrate the eye's normal state , blood vessels swell in response to the injury, making the eyes red. Vizoptin works by constricting the swollen blood vessels and, as result, redness is reduced.
What is it used for?: (Indications:)
Vizoptin is used to treat:
sore and red eyes
eye itching, burning or congestion caused by sun, smoke, dust, wind or other irritants.
edema and irritation of conjunctiva
allergic diseases of the eyes
catarrhal conjunctivitis
Contraindications and cautions:
You should not use Vizoptin :
if you have an allergy to any Vizoptin ingredients
in infants and children (under 2years old)
if you experience cornea injury( endothelial- epithelial dystrophia)
You should tell your health care provider prior to taking Vizoptin if you experience any of the following conditions:
Hypertension
Diabetes
Cardiovascular disorders
Aneurysm
Thyrotoxicosis
Pheochromocytoma
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding
You should stop taking Vizoptin if :
you feel pain in your eyes
if you experience any changes in vision
if you experience redness or irritation of the eye that lasts more than 72 hours
Warning!
If you wear contact lenses remove them before taking Vizoptin . Do not insert contact lenses for 15 minutes after application of Vizoptin eye drops.
Vizoptin overdose may cause more eye redness.
Do not use Vizoptin if you noticed that solution has changed color or become cloudy.
You should not touch tip of Vizoptin eye drops container to any surface to avoid contamination.
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine.
Store Vizoptin container at 15° to 25°C

Mydriasis
An increase pressure inside the eye
Reactive hyperemia
