Active Ingredients:
Theophylline
Therapeutic actions:
Theo SR (Theophylline) increases cAMP accumulation in tissues, blocks adenosine (purine) receptors; reduces inflow of calcium ions through cellular membranes canals, reduces contractive activity of unstriated muscles. Theo SR (Theophylline) relaxes muscles of bronchial tubes, blood vessels (mainly vessels of brain, skin and kidneys); increases renal blood flow, possesses moderately expressed diuretic effect. The drug stabilizes the interseptum of mast cells, brakes mediators of allergic reactions release. Increases mucociliary clearance, stimulates diaphragm arctation, improves function of respiratory and intercostal muscles, stimulates the respiratory center. Normalizing respiratory function, it promotes blood saturation and decrease in carbonic acid concentration; stimulates the centers of aspiration. Theo SR (Theophylline) intensifies lung ventilation in hypokalemia conditions.
