Therapeutic actions:
Mucaltin (Althaea Polysacharides) is an expectorant. It contains a mix of Althaea Polysaccharides. It has expectorant effect - due to reflex stimulation it intensifies activity of ciliate epithelium and vermicular movement of respiratory bronchiole in a combination with bronchial glands secretion intensification. Sodium carbonate dilutes sputum and raises a little bronchial secretion.
What is it used for?:
Acute and chronic diseases of respiratory system, accompanied with viscous sputum formation (tracheobronchitis, chronic obstructive lungs disease, multiple bronchiectasis, pneumonia, pulmonary emphysema, pneumoconiosis, etc.)
Contraindications and cautions:
Hypersensitivity to the medicine components; peptic ulcer disease.
Side effects:
Dyspeptic disturbances (including nausea), seldom – allergic reactions.
Interactions:
It is not prescribed together with medicaments that contain codeine.
