Description
Active Ingredients:
Oxymetazoline
Therapeutic actions:
Nazol is the alpha- adrenoceptor agonist for local administration, has vasoconstrictive effect. At intranasal application it reduces puffiness of nasal passagesI and sinuses mucus membranes. Nazol facilitates nasal breathing. Duration of action - 10-12 h. Glycols being a part of the medicine protect mucous membrane from excessive drying.
What is it used for?:
• Rhinitis at acute respiratory viral infection;
• Allergic rhinitis;
• Pollen allergy;
• Sinusitis.
Contraindications and cautions:
• arterial hypertension;
• extensive atherosclerosis;
• heart dysrhythmia;
• pancreatic diabetes;
• thyrotoxicosis;
• evident parafunction of kidneys;
• pregnancy;
• children under 6 y.o.;
• hypersensitivity to the medicine components.
Side effects:
CNS: seldom – nervousness, sleep disturbances.
Digestive system: nausea.
CVS: arterial hypertension, heart consciousness.
Local reactions: xeromycteria, xerostomia.
Systemic side effects are possible only in persons with hypersensitivity to adrenoceptor agonists.
Interactions:
It is not recommended to use Nazol together with other medicaments for intranasal introduction.
At simultaneous use of Nazol and other vasoconstrictor agents (not depending on mode of administration) make side effects synergism possible.
At simultaneous use of Nazol together with MAO inhibitors intensification of medicamentsI effect on CNS is possible.
