Description
Pulmicort (Budesonide) is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Budesonide inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks.

Therapeutic actions:
Glucocorticoid preparation for inhalation application. Pulmicort has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and anti-exudative effect which at inhalation application leads to decrease of bronchial obstruction. The mechanism of action consists in depression of inflammatory mediators release and allergy, and also in respiratory tract reactivity depression. Application of the preparation prevents development of bronchial asthma strokes caused by physical activity.
What is it used for?:
Bronchial asthma, demanding glucocorticoid maintenance therapy.
Contraindications and cautions:
Hypersensitivity to medicine components.
Pulmicort (Budesonide) should be used cautiously by patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, mycotic fungal and viral infections.
Side effects:
Central nervous system symptoms: nervousness, anxiety, depression.
Respiratory system: seldom – paradoxial bronchospasm.
Dermatologic reactions: seldom – rush, urticaria, dermatitis.
Local reactions: slight throat choke, cough, hoarseness, mouth cavity and throat candidiasis, face skin irritation if using nebulizer with the masc.
Interactions:
It is not established clinically significant interactions of Budesonide with other preparations.
