How Does Rimonabant (Acomplia) works:
Rimonabant (Acomplia) works by blocking receptors of a substance called cannabinoid 1, which stimulates hunger and other cravings in the brain and is also present in fat tissue. This receptor is also present in the fat tissue and controls the hunger in the brain. So when you take Rimonabant drug, you will automatically eat less because you will not feel hunger. As a result you will take less food which will help you to reduce your cholesterol levels. When you start losing weight, the first place you will lose body fat is your mid-section. And your cholesterol will go down and your blood pressure will return to healthy levels.
Rimonabant (Acomplia) acts by selectively blocking CB1 receptors found in the brain and in peripheral organs important in glucose and lipid (or fat) metabolism, including adipose tissue, the liver, gastrointestinal tract and muscle.
