Bonviva (Ibandronic acid)
Description
Bonviva is a potent bisphosphonate drug used in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. It may also be used to treat hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels). It is an inhibitor of bone resorption and osteoclasts activity. At women in menopaus Bonviva reduces the increased bone turnover rate to the level of reproductive age that leads to the general progressing increase of bone content. It is used for treatment and prophylaxis of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women, prophylaxis of fractures.
